School Resource Officer

A School Resource Officer (SRO) with the Saddle River Police Department is a law enforcement professional assigned to work within the Saddle River school district. The primary role of an SRO is to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors by maintaining a visible and approachable presence on school grounds. The SRO acts as a liaison between the school community and law enforcement, providing education on topics such as bullying, drug prevention, and conflict resolution. Additionally, they assist with emergency preparedness, investigate any incidents that may occur, and foster positive relationships with students to promote a safe and supportive school environment. Through their role, the SRO helps to create a safe learning environment while also building trust between the community and law enforcement.
